Our Story

Jardin Bonita is a floral design studio and micro-flower farm based in Charleston, South Carolina, founded in 2019 by Alicia Silva Flores.

I’m a Chicago native with a background in art and the hospitality industry, museums, cultural institutions, and hotels where the experience of a place is everything. Art museums, cultural institutions, the rooms where beauty changes people. Thinking about what draws someone in and what stays with them.

That background continues to shape the way I see flowers, as a living medium. Something to be composed, considered, and felt.

In my Mexican heritage, flowers are not a background. They are ceremony, memory, offering, a wish.

I’m drawn to what cannot be held onto: the impermanence of clouds, the changing light, a brushstroke. That quality of attention is at the center of everything I make.

At Jardin Bonita, I grow specialty cut flowers on my micro-farm in Charleston, SC with an emphasis on native, heirloom, and thoughtfully selected varieties. When the season asks for more, I source from farms and nurseries whose values look like mine. Every arrangement is designed with intentional mechanics and a deep respect for the life of each stem. Nothing unnecessary. And because what I grow is grown with purpose, I think about where the flowers go when the celebration is over, returning them to the earth they came from whenever possible.

I work with a carefully selected number of clients each season: corporate accounts, boutique hotels and restaurants, elopements, intimate and larger weddings, and events that understand the importance of atmosphere.

You will always work directly with me. From the first conversation to the last stem placed.

Jardin Bonita is an ongoing study of beauty, place, and impermanence.

A way of preserving the art of growing together.
